TEMPO.CO, Jakarta doni salmanan, a social media personality known for “flexing” his wealth, has been named a suspect by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in connection with alleged binary options fraud and money laundering.

His designation as a suspect came after police questioned Doni, who is an affiliator for binary options “trading” platform Quotex, for nearly 13 hours at the headquarters of the police’s criminal investigation unit ( Bareskrim) on Tuesday, March 8.

Salmanan is currently facing multiple charges of alleged violation of the ITE Law, Penal Code (KUHP) and money laundering and faces a prison term of up to 20 years.

13 hours of interrogation

Doni Salmanan was first questioned by the police as a witness in the case regarding the binary options fraud. During their lengthy interrogation, the police also took statements from victims, experts in law, linguistics and technology.

Police spokesman Brig. General Ahmad Ramadhan said on Tuesday that the binary affiliator was immediately arrested after police deemed Doni Salmanan a danger who could potentially escape abroad and destroy evidence.

Suspect’s naming comes just days after police named another binary option affiliator for the Binomo Indra Kenz application as a suspect..
